Corey Golden

For one who has spent a lifetime riding and showing horses, there is nothing      better than owning and managing a farm of her own––and that is exactly              what Corey Golden is excited about right now! Hunter Hill Farm, established        in 2010, has been successfully training riders and horses for the show ring            and recently purchased a beautiful farm in Pipersville, Pennsylvania. Situated      on 17 acres, the farm is a premium full-service facility offering lessons,                  training, showing and horse sales.

It is here where riders of all ages and levels are given the opportunity to learn                                                             what  Corey has absorbed her whole life from an impressive roster of                                                                             professionals as well as her many years of showing successfully throughout the East Coast. As a junior, Corey rode with Stephanie Campas (now Desiderio) and Bob and Sharyn Cole, qualifying and competing in pony hunters and junior hunters at Devon, Harrisburg, Washington and the National Horse Show.

Corey showed as an amateur for three years before turning professional in 1996 and working for Emil Spadone at Redfield Farm. She continued her education at Stacey Schaefer’s pony sale barn, and then with Peggy Gehman where she learned about breaking and bringing along young horses. Next came Diane Daly’s farm where she remained for ten years, riding, teaching and learning about managing all aspects of a show barn including care, maintenance and even driving a trailer!

Specializing in hunters, jumpers and equitation, Corey’s lessons start with good basics such as flatwork since “the jumps are just an extension of the flatwork.” She offers individualized and undivided attention in private lessons although occasionally she will teach a group of two, explaining, “A little competition in lessons is a good thing! Also riders witnessing others’ mistakes and successes is also a great learning tool.”

The results of Corey’s teaching and training methods come full bloom at the local and away rated horse shows where her students and their horses compete successfully year in and year out.

Winston has been a farm dog since he was 8 weeks old.  The past 13 years, he has spent his days over-seeing the farm and making sure Corey is doing her job properly.  He has traveled the horse show circuit from Florida to Mississippi and all along the east coast. Some of Winston's hobbies include spider and frog hunting but his true love is playing with his ball.
